Benjamin Klinger

Benjamin Klinger is GIZ’s Programme Director for Sustainable Economic Development in Ukraine. In this capacity he is coordinating GIZ’s activities in this sector, including projects in the field of vocational education and training, SME promotion, trade promotion and regional development.

After joining GIZ in Germany in its division for economic policy and private sector development, Mr Klinger has been managing GIZ projects abroad on economic development as well as on accession to the European Union for the last 14 years. This included assignments in Montenegro, where he worked on SME promotion, sustainable tourism and accession to the EU’s internal market, Serbia, where his focus was urban development and land management as well as East and South-East Asia, where – being based in Beijing – projects managed by him covered regional economic cooperation in China, Mongolia, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Mr Klinger holds a Diploma degree (equivalent M.Sc.) in economics from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, specializing in international and development economics.
